Look Who's visiting me today - Lucy Appleby!

Hi Lucy, welcome to my blog!

Delighted to have a spot on your blog, Constance. Thanks for having me here to give my latest Western an airing. I'm a sucker for a handsome cowboy and had great fun writing this period piece which contains romance, spankings, a feisty woman and a big hunky cowboy.

Mail Order Mary features the spirited Mary Ashton. Set in 1876, the story begins in Victorian England with Sir Henry Ashford informing Mary that he has arranged for her to marry the wealthy (and odious) Marquess of Stirling. Unhappy with her lot, she ponders her escape, and when the opportunity arises to take the place of Ruby Fairweather on board a steamship destined for America, she takes it, with the knowledge that Ruby had been corresponding with Isaiah Bean, a handsome young American man advertising for a wife.

But on arriving in America, Mary's fortunes take a turn for the worse. She is robbed of all her money and has to sell her fine gowns to fund the remainder of her journey to Montana, where she will have to be reliant on the charity of Isaiah Bean. However, when she finally finds Isaiah, she is sorely disappointed. It is Nathan Miller who comes to her aid - a giant of a man with a kind heart and smouldering good looks. He takes her home to White Tail Ranch, and her life changes forever – and at this part the real fun starts, because Mary is not used to doing as she is told, and it isn't long before sparks fly between her and Nathan - and the big cowboy shows he is not averse to putting her over his knee for a spanking to help motivate her into behaving better. A complete novice at cooking and cleaning, Mary has several mishaps, and sorely tests Nathan's patience. But as time goes by, the attraction between Nathan and Mary grows. He saves her life and she his, and for the first time ever, Mary feels she belongs somewhere - and to someone.

Mail Order Mary is available from LSF Publications and Amazon.

Thanks for having me, Constance, and I wish you and your readers happy holidays, happy reading, and lots of good things for 2015.

You're welcome to visit me any time Lucy :)

I have Tara Finnegan and His Forever Summer for the Corbin's Bend Blitz! So excited!

Blurb:
Carla Methon has tread on a lot of toes, men’s and women’s alike. But no one could be more dissatisfied with Carla than the lady herself. With a compunction to throw herself at every man within a three mile radius and a serious case of foot in mouth disease, Carla knows she is in desperate need of being taken in hand before she does any more damage to her reputation.

Kieran O’Brien needs to escape a broken relationship and he invites himself to spend a summer with his brother in Corbin’s Bend. But Kieran is a totally unsuspecting vanilla with no idea of the ethos of the community he is about to enter.

The pair strike up an unlikely friendship of vanilla and spice, with one stipulation – it is only a summer fling. By the time Kieran boards his flight to return to Ireland he wishes his summer could last forever. Can he find the courage, not only to admit the extent of his feelings, but to take on the role Carla so desperately needs him to be?

Excerpt 1 - sexy

“Bedroom, now. And that’s an order.” He could get to like this being in charge caper, he thought as Carla scuttled off. Carla was stripping her clothes as fast as she could. He stood appreciating the sight. He liked that her bottom was still a nice rich pink, although much faded already. He idly mused on the lack of guilt he had about it now, compared to that first time.

“It’s torture time, babe. Lie on your back, spread-eagled,” he warned, giving her an evil smile. He fished in her underwear drawer to find some pantyhose or something stretchy to tie her with. He had an idea they might stretch to the four corners of the bed. “Bingo, it works, although your pantyhose will never be useable again. It was time you switched to stockings and a garter belt anyway. They’re much sexier.”

“You never cease to amaze me, Kieran O’Brien. And here I was thinking you were such a prude for so long.”

“Ah, just because I hadn’t discovered the joys of spanking, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like a bit of hot, naughty sex. Let me see, a blindfold I think. Remember, call Methon if I’m making you uncomfortable.”

“I’m good so far. There are scarves in the third or fourth drawer.”

“I need to go to the kitchen for a moment, do you want me to untie you, or are you okay?”

“It’s fine. I could get out of these if I had to. It’s hot to think of you leaving me lying here like this. Blindfold me before you go.” He found couple of scarves, folded one over and tied it around her head. Another silk scarf he set aside for other uses. Her breathing was labored. Arousal was shimmering off her like a halo. Her face and neck were flushed. She looked so hot. And he had just the thing to cool her down. He ran to the kitchen, got ice from the freezer and clothes pegs from the laundry hamper. The fun was about to begin. When he returned, he started out by doing a survey of her body. “Someone’s a dirty slut. I see a pink face, hard nipples and a very wet pussy. You’re enjoying this too much. I had better cool you down.”He had the pleasure of seeing Carla fight her restraints and buck her hips. He put an ice cube in his mouth and then put his mouth around one erect nipple. Already peaked and sensitive, the ice made it much harder. She really had the most beautiful tits – all nipple. So much fun to play with. He moved to the other bud. When they were both hard and attentive, he crunched and swallowed the ice. Then he took the silk scarf and trailed it along her breasts. The soft, warm fibre gently teasing urged a whimper from her mouth. Next he took a clothespeg, rolled one nipple between his finger and thumb and attached the peg.

“Ouch,” Carla protested.

Come and Join me for Saturday Spankings!

Hi everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends. Today I'm going to share a snippet again from The One She LOVES. This week I'm going to continue on from where the last snippet ended.

Crystal was much taller and had no problem wrestling even a struggling Carol over her knee. “I tried to talk to you.” Crystal emphasized every word with a sharp smack on Carol’s bare behind. “I have to tell you though, missy, if you can’t act like an adult, I don’t even want to discuss having another baby now.”

“Ow, you’re hurting me!” Carol kicked her legs and wriggled in her effort to escape her girlfriend’s stinging hand.

“Did you tell me to make you?” Crystal asked, slapping Carol’s rosy cheeks.

Blurb:

Carol and Crystal love the lives they share in Corbin's Bend with their nine year old daughter, Brianna. Carol is a taken in hand bundle of fun but she is not a Susie homemaker. Their house is often times a mess. She'd rather spend time living life than cleaning. She loves Crystal and Brianna and she loves spending time with her friends. She often finds herself over her girlfriend's knee for a bare bottomed spanking for getting her priorities wrong.

Crystal is a fire-fighter and the head of their loving home. She's fit, neat and organized. Apart from her career, Carol and Brianna are her world, and while she knows friendships are important, she feels somewhat threatened by how much her girl shares with her friends and not with her.

When Carol decides she wants a baby, it throws their house into a spin. Crystal isn't sure and wants to wait. When Carol's three naughty friends from Leading the Way (4th in the Corbin's Bend Series) see how disappointed their friend is, they help the young mom go on a sperm search with hilarious results. Only problem is, Crystal knows nothing about their hijinks. Can a punishment fix this mess? Or will what Crystal sees as disloyalty, tear them apart?

Time for Saturday Spankings!

Good morning Saturday Spankers! Today I'm going to share from my latest book, the fourth in the second season of Corbin's Bend, The One She LOVES! This is the story of Carol and Crystal.

The first part of this snippet can be seen here on the Corbin's Bend blog. This snippet follows directly after.

Being the head of a domestic discipline relationship wasn’t always easy. She wanted Carol to be her own person and know that she could have her say, but sometimes you had to take a stand. If you couldn’t get to the bottom of something one way, it was time to get there another. “Get out.” Crystal folded her arms and narrowed her eyes.

“Make me.”

And sometimes you were issued a challenge that was just too tempting to ignore. She saw Carol’s eyes widen and she clutched the bedding to her throat in an effort to suck back that last statement. “Too late little girl,” she said, snatching the bedclothes and dragging them away.

“Stop, Cryssy. I’m sorry!” Carol wailed.

Learning To Be Little Again with Meredith O'Reilly!

A little Thanks!Hi Constance! I just wanted to say thank you so much for having me on your blog! I can’t believe that Learning to be Little Again has come out! It feels like yesterday I was just starting to write it. Again, thank you for having me come visit your blog! ☺

You're always welcome Melody. Good luck with your new release!

Blurb

Twenty four year old Juliana once loved being a little, until the cruelty of the man she had called daddy broke her heart and she decided to never be little again. But when she fails to take care of herself and becomes ill, a worried friend brings her to Dr. Robert O’Connor, claiming that he will understand what she needs. Juliana is embarrassed and nervous, but to her surprise, Robert gives her a teddy bear and tells her a fairy tale to help her relax. Though the exam is intimate and thorough, Juliana feels safe the whole time and hopes afterwards that she’ll see more of the handsome doctor.

From the moment Robert heard about Juliana’s past, he wanted nothing more than to take away her pain and make sure she never has to worry about anyone hurting her again. He is thrilled when he asks her out and she shyly agrees. Though Juliana claims she doesn’t want to be a little anymore, he longs to prove to her that age play with him is nothing to fear. Robert is a patient man, and before long Juliana is calling him “daddy”, playing with her dolls, and coloring. He delights in taking care of her every need, dressing her in footie pajamas, and brushing her hair. Even when Juliana is disobedient and Robert has to put his baby girl over his knee and spank her bare bottom, it is always followed by plenty of loving hugs and cuddles.

Soon Juliana is eating more and sleeping better, and feels healthier than she has in a long time. But when the man who once abused her skips bail and threatens to hurt her if she continues to see her new daddy, she becomes terrified. Will she ever be free to relax in her daddy’s arms, knowing he will keep his little girl safe from everything and love her no matter what?

Publisher’s Note: Learning to be Little Again is a stand-alone sequel to Little Samantha’s Choice. It is an erotic romance novel that contains spankings, age play, medical play, anal play, sexual scenes, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Snippet (This is when Juliana goes a little early to her doctor’s appointment with Mark. She’s very nervous, especially because she knows that Dr. Robert will be treating her.)

I walked into the doctor’s office with Mark right behind me. I was so anxious for this appointment that I felt like I was going to be sick. I was all set to turn around and tell Mark I was sorry, but that I was not going to do this, when suddenly I spotted the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Across the waiting room there was a huge aquarium filled with colorful fish!

Walking over to it, I immediately looked at all of the fish inside. After a few seconds, I noticed that the fish matched the fish that were in Dr. Sherman’s office in Finding Nemo. I greeted each fish by name and just watched as they swam around. I was so enthralled with my new discovery that I didn’t hear Mark or his doctor friend come up behind me.

“I’m glad that you like the fish, Juliana. Very few people actually recognize what movie they’re from.”

My focus left the fish and the ball of panic that had disappeared when I saw the fish came back, but this time it felt twice as big. I just stood there, not wanting to move.

“Juliana, aren’t you going to turn around and say hello?” Mark asked, and I could tell by the sound of his voice that he was getting frustrated.

I was about to turn around when I felt Robert’s presence by my side.

“It’s alright, Mark. I can understand why looking at fish is more appealing than saying hi to me. Look at Bloat. He’s such a silly fish,” Robert said, pointing to the glass as Bloat did what looked like a summersault. Robert and I watched the fish together for a little longer until he finally said, “As much fun as this is, I think it’s time that we get that exam started.”

I slowly turned to face him and Mark, and I just nodded.

Author Bio:

Meredith O’Reilly is a rather new author. She still can’t believe that she has had two stories published. As of right now, she is currently only writing age play stories, however she is trying to branch out and find another genre of stories to write for.

In her spare time, Meredith goes to school, watches a little too much Netflix, and experiments with learning how to cook new things in the kitchen. Mostly she tries to balance her life between school work and author work. That’s a task that is easier said than done, most times.

Saturday Spankings!

Hi everyone, happy Saturday! Today I'm going to share a different scene from Monkey Business. Next week I'll move on to share my latest Corbin's Bend story, The One She LOVES, my first F/F.

In this piece, Summer and Ben are a couple and Summer is about to get her very first bare spanking.

“You want me naked?” Oh lord, she didn't want the first time he saw her naked to be like this.

“Yes. You're a grown up girl about to get a grown up spanking. I want you naked.”

Oh how she'd longed to hear those words, just not quite in that context. Her hands trembled against the hem of the shirt for a second. “Couldn't you do it for me?”

“No. I want you to do as you're told.”

Summer took a deep breath, yanked the t-shirt over her head, practically threw herself over his knee, all the time trying to keep her legs together. A warm hand rested on her lower back and it calmed her a little, until his other hand tapped gently at each thigh.

“Open them.” he said gently.

Blurb:

Summer receives the opportunity of a lifetime when she scores a placement in a volunteer program in a zoo.

Ben, as Summer’s mentor sees a bright and talented young woman who needs some structure and discipline.

Will Ben be able to help Summer reach her potential? Has Summer met her match?

BLUSHING BOOKS

Excerpt:

In this excerpt, Summer is trying hard to get to work on time with her friend Poppy in tow, but things don't go according to plan...

Summer couldn't believe that they actually managed to get out of the house on time. Early even. She'd had a weird feeling that something was going to go wrong although she couldn't quite put her finger on what exactly that was. Maybe that wasn't unusual considering she if it was going to happen it hadn't happened yet.

          “What's wrong?”

“Nothing really, I guess, I don't know. I was so excited about today and now I just feel weird, like something's off.”

“Um thanks, I love you too.”

“I didn't mean you Pops. I can't explain it.” The words were no sooner out of her mouth when Summer heard a siren behind her.

“Uh oh.” Poppy said. Did you just run a red light or something?”

“No. I've been very careful.” Summer carefully pulled over and waited for the officer to come over to the car.

He tapped on the closed window. “Open please.” His voice was muffled through the glass but she heard what he said and was quick to comply.

“Is there a problem Officer?” she asked with a shaky voice.           “Im afraid there is Miss. License and registration please.”           Summer opened the glove compartment and produced both. She'd been listening when she was told to keep her papers close.

“Step out of the car M'am.” he said.

“Why? I didn't do anything.” Summer wasn't trying to be difficult and her tone wasn't rude in anyway, she just didn't understand, she'd been careful.

           “Step. Out. Of. The car.”

“I don't think we're being punked here Sum,  you better do it.”

“You can leave the vehicle too Miss.”

“Am I in trouble?” Summer asked. “I didn't do anything.”

“This time.  Miss you have unpaid fines, your license has been suspended.”

“Oh no! The fines. I completely forgot!”

“I'm sorry Miss, but I can't let you drive this car until you pay your fines and have your license reinstated.”

“But I have to. You don't understand! I have to get to work.”

“I'm sorry Miss, rules are rules.”

Summer burst into tears. “If you let me drive to work just this once I can pay the fines and I won't drive my car again until I know the payments clear.”

              “No driving.”

“Can I drive the car?” Poppy asked.

“Do you have your license?” Summer looked at Poppy hopefully. She was going to be late on the single most important day ever. Tears rolled down her face. Not because Ben was going to be angry, although he was going to be angry, that was for sure but she was more upset that she'd let him down. Ben, Cher and everyone else that got involved in something that had been her idea.

“Well not on me exactly.” Poppy winced at Summer, rubbing her friend's arm to try and comfort her.  “I didn't think I was going to need it but I promise Officer I do have one.”

“You can't drive a car unless you have your license on you.”

“Ok, here's the thing. We have a problem. A big problem. We need to get to the zoo and we need to do it quickly,” Pops said.

“That's your problem Miss, not mine.”

Summer just cried harder.  Not only were they late but Pops was going to keep arguing with this highway patrol guy until he arrested them.  “Pops, it's ok.”

“No I know it doesn't have to be your problem but I know that you wouldn't have chosen this job if you didn't want to help people. I can see it in your face. You have kind eyes. Very blue.”

“I'll ask you to close up your car Miss. You can get someone to come and pick it up or you can have it towed.” he said ignoring Poppy's compliments.

Monkey Business on Saturday Spankings!

Happy Saturday everyone! Today for my snippet I'm going to share a little more of Monkey Business.

Last week, Summer was trying to explain why she hadn't driven her car to work, but it wasn't making a lot of sense. Ben, sensing something wasn't right kept pushing. Finally Summer admits that she couldn't drive because she'd been drinking at a club.

Summer picked up her bag, it was time to get out of there. The look that Ben gave her was rattled her equilibrium.
“Not yet.” He narrowed his eyes at her. “How old do you have to be to get into this club you went to Summer?”
          “Twenty one.”
          “How old are you?”
          “Almost twenty.”
          “Where is it?”
          “Where's what?”
          “The fake ID.”

Corinne Alexander is here to talk about A Brush Of Violet!

I am so happy to have Corinne here today to tell us a bit about her new release, A Brush of Violet! She is also running a competition so don't forget to comment for a chance to win.

They set her bags down on the bed. “I hope you don’t mind, but I thought we would stay in tonight. I thought we’d enjoy homemade pizza and wine while we had some time to ourselves before I introduce you around tomorrow.”
Violet salivated at the thought of Ever’s homemade pizza. It was not mere homemade pizza from a Jiffy box, it was practically gourmet with fresh ingredients and truly homemade crust. “Yum, that sounds perfect.” Both women cracked up when her stomach rumbled in agreement. “Rest stop refreshments are apparently not cutting it.” She laughed. “Let’s get you fed before the hungry beast makes an appearance,” Ever joked, walking toward the kitchen. “I pre made the pizza so that all we would have to do is heat it up. I wasn’t sure when you would make it in,” she said as she shrugged. “It should only take 10 minutes. How about a glass of wine while we wait?”
“That would be great,” Violet replied as she rolled her shoulders to work the knots out from driving.
The pretty brunette pulled a bottle of wine from the cabinet and one from the refrigerator where it had been chilling. Holding them up she asked, “Shiraz or Chardonnay?”
“Mmm, Shiraz please.” She watched as the other woman poured first a glass of Shiraz for her and then a glass of Chardonnay for herself. The kitchen wasn’t much to speak of compared to what Everleigh had done with the rest of the house, but she knew better than to underestimate her cooking skills. Sure enough, she pulled out two pizza stones to heat the pizza up with.
Catching Violet watching her, she winked. “We would have asked for special permission to put up an authentic pizza oven in the back, but we didn’t want to push our luck after the board was kind enough to approve a pottery kiln.”
“You’re kidding me.” Violet was blown away. “How did you manage that? I thought this was a housing cooperative. I know how strict those are about allowing any big changes.”
Ever looked at her deadpan. “Oh, it was easy. I just batted my eyelashes and agreed to a public spanking.”
Seeing Violet’s stricken look, she burst with peals of laughter. “I’m kidding! Oh my God, the look on your face,” she exclaimed, laughing even harder. “In all seriousness, I simply filled out an application. The board is usually willing to make accommodations for self-employment needs as long as it isn’t anything crazy. Plus, I’ve started teaching classes to the kids here.”
“You’re mean to play a trick like that on me when I just got here.” Violet pouted, smacking her friend hard on the shoulder. “This is a spanking community isn’t it?” she asked, giggling despite herself. “That is pretty great of them to be so accommodating.”
“Yes, it is a spanking community, but business is kept pretty separate, goofy.” The timer went off and they dug into the piping hot pizza. She was correct in her assumption of gourmet. Slices of fresh tomatoes topped the whole wheat crust with mozzarella, shiitake mushrooms, fresh basil, and grilled chicken. The aroma was out of this world. They grabbed their pizza and wine and went to settle onto the couch. Now this is a couch you can sink into, Violet thought, revelling in the comfort of the deep cushions.
She took a bite and her teeth sunk into a little slice of heaven. “Oh my God, I don’t know how you do it,” she groaned with appreciation.
They ate in companionable silence for a minute just enjoying the comfort of good food and good company.
“How long’s Robert gone for?” Violet asked around her bite of pizza.
Everleigh look a small sip of wine before answering. “Just over a month.” She paused to gather her hair up into a loose bun. “He’s trying to get all of his business there wrapped up in one fell swoop. I think he’s hoping not to leave any loose ends because after we get married, he does not want to have to travel so far again.”
Violet wiped her mouth with a napkin. “That sounds promising. Do you think you will be all right with him gone so long?” Worry tugged at her mind knowing how flighty her friend could get when in creation mode. She was an artist through and through and when she immersed herself into a project, she was lost to this world until she finished it. Violet knew Robert was the rock that kept Everleigh grounded to the world around her. This was where the DD came in. They used it as a tool in their relationship, and this was one of the areas it covered. From what Violet understood, they set up some rules and expectations that they both wanted in their relationship and daily lives. Robert kept Everleigh accountable for her part of things. One of those things happened to be staying connected to the world around her. Ever had a habit of forgetting to eat, sleep, and any other necessities involved in life when she was swept up in a project.
If it kept her friend happy and healthy, Violet had no issue. In fact, she was pretty
sure it was the spanking that added the extra pizzazz and closeness of their relationship. Everleigh was happier than she had ever seen. Her best friend had always had a thing for the alpha types. She had always loved being pulled into the presence of a commanding man who made her his priority of focus.
Violet had to admit it was intoxicating to be held in the focus of a man like Robert. She was no stranger to that feeling of being completely consumed. Her ex had been just like that for her. Meeting him just as she was transitioning from high school to college, he made every cell of her body sing. There was this yin and yang about him that both settled her and made her feel more alive than she had ever been. John had been a little feral, a little authoritative, and a lot alpha. He called up something inside of her that needed to be completely possessed by him. God, she missed that!

Sighing, Violet shook herself out of her reverie. Her independent nature was too at
odds with a relationship like that. Her mom had nipped that relationship in the bud before it had gone too far. Something like that could be great for Ever, but not for her. She remembered how horrified her mother had been when she found out that Violet had been “letting someone else tell her what to do, and a man at that” after she overheard them talking one day. She was sure her mom had picked up on the vibe between them as well. She was not going to let any daughter of hers submit to a man. The Harris ladies were strong women who made their own way in the world. The world bowed to them, not the other way around. Working hard to meet both her mom’s expectations and her own, she graduated college with her MBA landing a job in business mergers and acquisitions within a week from graduation. She knew her mother was right; yet she spent many of nights yearning for just that. The world around her snapped back into focus as Everleigh answered her question.
“I think it will be okay.” She nodded. “I wasn’t sure at all at first,” Everleigh confessed, looking a little forlorn, “but we have a plan for while he’s away, and I think it’s going to work out just fine. I have great neighbors who will check in on me, plus you’re here,” she said with a smile and a wink. “We have a schedule of nightly video chat sessions to stay connected and make sure I’m on track. To be honest, my plan is to stay as busy as possible the rest of the time,” she said with a sigh. Opting to change the subject, she asked with a mischievous look in her eye, “So when was the last time you had a man in your bed?”
They stayed up late laughing, teasing, and catching up, not going to bed until the wee hours of the morning.

Blurb

High powered business woman, Violet Walker, has long left her artistic days behind. That is until her best friend, Everleigh Harris, invites her to Corbin's Bend for an art festival. Will Violet, overworked, burnt out, and in denial of her deepest wants and desires, be able to surrender when love knocks on her door?

A Brush of Violet (Corbin’s Bend) is her debut novella.  Corinne’s favorite kind of day is when she can slip away into nature to get lost in her daydreams (spinning her fantasies) with the forest floor under her feet, the wind rustling through her hair, and sunbeams kissing her face.

Monkey Business will be out today on Blushing!

Today I'm going to share a snippet from my newest release due out today on Blushing Books: Monkey Business.  If you need a bit of a memory jog, the start of this story began when I posted it last year for Spankee Doodle Dandee

This snippet is unedited but I wanted to share a taste. No cover yet but I'll slip it in as soon as I get it.

This piece has a tad more than 8 sentences but they are really small. After her spanking, Summer apologises but gets caught out again in her explanation of why she's sorry. When she started the internship she had signed a contract that she had a car and license so that she would always make it to work on time. When Ben finds out she caught the bus, he is unimpressed.

“It also specified that you needed to have a driver's license and a car.”

“I did have a driver's license and a car. I still do.”

“I think the idea was that you were meant to use it and get to work on time.”

“ I got that.”

“Why didn't you drive in? I've seen you in a car. So if you understand the rule and you own a car and a license, why didn't you use it to get here on time?”

“I couldn't drive just today. Well today and last Monday. Then I couldn't drive either.”

“Is your car in working order?”

“Yes.”

“Well why weren't you in it today?” Ben asked with increasing frustration.

Blurb:

Summer receives the opportunity of a lifetime when she scores a placement in a volunteer program in a zoo.Ben, as Summer's mentor sees a bright and talented young woman who needs some structure and discipline.

Will Ben be able to help Summer reach her potential?

Has Summer met her match?

Cara is Visiting! Yay!

I am so excited to have Cara on today to share and excerpt from her brand new book Warrior, the third in her Breeder series.

Warrior (Breeder 3) blurb

A female fighting for freedom.  A male armed with determination. Can they save their people?
As a despotic Qalin marches through Parseon intent on conquering every province, Commander Marlix pledges his sister to another Alpha to protect her. Desperate to decide her own fate, Anika flees and finds refuge with the guerilla resistance movement against Qalin. Marlix’s aide Urazi hunts her down to bring her home to fulfill her duty. But when love blossoms between them, and provinces fall to Qalin, Anika and Urazi realize home has ceased to exist, and they are all that stand between the people of Parseon and the end of the world.
Warrior is the third and final book of the Breeder science fiction romance series, but it can be read as a stand-alone.

Warrior (Breeder 3) excerpt

“If I had not killed Grogan, he would have beaten and used you.”
Urazi had witnessed Grogan striking her, so the first part came as no surprise, but how could he have known the alpha had intended to avail himself of her?
“Do you think I could not read his behavior? That I did not notice him rubbing himself against you? Do you think I am mentally deficient?” Urazi growled. “If I had not intervened, you would have joined forces against Marlix, Dak, and Ilian without knowing it.”
Anika’s face heated with guilt and shame.
“You are impulsive! Rash,” Urazi continued to rail. “You fled without concern for the consequences.”
“I knew the consequences! Marlix would have sent me to Ilian.”
Urazi looked away. “Commander Ilian would have kept you safe.”
“Maybe safety represents the greatest danger of all.”
“Your words do not make sense.”
“I wish to choose what I do. “
“Protocol makes the choice for you.”
“Protocol. Protocol. Protocol! I am sick of Protocol.” Anika stomped around, too angry to remain still.
“It is the way. Our way.”
Our way allowed Corren, Commander Dak’s beta, to slit my throat and leave me for dead.” Anika traced the fine scar bisecting her neck. “It allowed Qalin’s guards to hunt Tara and me, to kill Tara’s friend Ramon.”
“That is not the fault of Protocol, but of the individuals involved,” Urazi said.
Anika shook her head. “No. It creates the environment that encourages such behavior.”
“That is incor—”
“Protocol allows the male offspring of my sire to send me to whomever he wishes without concern for my desires.” Anika cut him off.
“Ilian is Alpha. He is the best possible choice for you.”
“Qalin is Alpha, too. Would he not be a best possible choice?”
“Now you speak rubbish.” Urazi turned away.
“You know I am right.”
“I know we all have our duty. In obedience, we achieve honor.”
“Easy for you to say. You are male. Your duty affords you some choices.”
“I am beta. Do you not think I wish for more?” Urazi whipped around, his gray eyes ablaze. “But I owe my allegiance to Parseon and to my Alpha! I accept that.”
“Well, I do not!” If she had a hammer she would not be able to pound understanding into his stony male brain. He would never empathize with her position. No male could. Anika clenched her hands into fists. If she were a male, she would have punched him by now. Old and new resentments ballooned. If she could not calm herself, she would explode. She would punch him. Anika stomped toward the forest.
“Come back here!”
She ignored him. He did not get a choice in the matter. Let him see what it was like to have one’s wishes overruled.
“Anika, I warn you….” Urazi’s voice hardened.

She faltered, responding to the command, habit and lifelong training overruling self-determination. But only if she let it. I am more than what I have been taught. Anika whirled around, folded all her fingers except for the middle one, and showed him her hand. Tara had called it flipping the coro and explained it was a very rude, dismissive gesture on Terra. It would be more satisfying if Urazi knew what it meant, but, for now, it was enough that she did. She spun around and marched toward the woods.
