Avery Madison, a farm girl from Montana and struggling interior decorator, has been trespassing on a private beach as payback for a broken promise.

For weeks billionaire Dean Guthrie has been irritated by a young woman disrupting his solitude, and finally catching her he pulls her over his knee. Infuriated she marches into the water not noticing the menace lurking in the shallow depths.

Dean's frantic shouts of warning send her racing back to the sand, and barely escaping the jaws of the great white she falls into his arms at the water's edge.

Moments later he recognizes the dark-haired green-eyed beauty. At a chance meeting months before she'd begged him to look at her ideas for his house. Though he'd agreed and was eager to see her again the portfolio had failed to appear.

They realize conniving forces must have interfered, but who, and why? As smoldering passion ignites, more questions surface as they are faced with a mysterious spate of nasty misdeeds.

Does someone want to keep them apart, or are Avery and Dean in serious danger...?

EXCERPT:
A ripple of something indefinable was moving through his body. He’d wronged her, but who was she, and what had he done?
“This isn’t about me owning this property,” he exclaimed. “Tell me, dammit. What’s going on with you?”
“I’m leaving, that’s what’s going on with me,” she snapped, and turning away she hurried towards the water, but to his surprise she abruptly stopped, spun around, and glowered at him. “I’m glad I was irritating, I’m glad I messed with your perfect little world,” she shouted. “Maybe I was wrong to trespass, but you deserved every aggravating moment, and I might have a sore backside but it’s worth it. It’s time you did some thinking…asshole!”
As she stormed off a second time, he stared after her in complete disbelief. The bikini-clad, beautiful young woman had been the source of ongoing irritation for many weeks, and he’d done what came naturally.  He was a dominant, spanking was as inherent as breathing, but had he acted too quickly? Clearly there was more to the story, but why hadn’t she told him? He thought about chasing after her but changed his mind. She was in a state, and he wasn’t feeling particularly happy either. Striding across to the staircase he punched the code into the gate keypad and started up the steps. His habit was to take them two at a time for exercise. He’d been tempted to put in an electric chair, but he liked the forced workout.
“Avery Madison,” he muttered. “I’d remember that name, but her voice, I know her voice, dammit.”
She had a knock-out body, but how could he recognize any woman wearing such large dark sunglasses? Any time he’d studied her through the telescope they’d covered her face. Had it been purposeful? Had she deliberately been hiding behind them so he wouldn’t recognize her?
“Dammit. I should have made her take them off. What’s wrong with me?”
He couldn’t abide sand in his house, and before entering he made it a point to clean it off with a brush he kept hanging on the railing. As he swept his feet and legs he continued pondering, and moving inside he headed up the stairs to his bedroom. As he dropped his clothes into the bathroom hamper, and washed his hands and face, the young woman’s attitude and words continued to weigh on his mind.
“We’ve met,” he mumbled. “I can feel it, and I know your voice. It’ll come to me. Once I calm down, it’ll come to me.”
Quickly dressing in comfortable slacks and a thin v-neck cashmere sweater, he moved swiftly back to the kitchen and filled a mug with coffee from his built-in coffeemaker. Curious to see if she’d left he carried the hot drink outside to the deck, and walking to the railing he stared down at his beach. To his surprise he saw her standing thigh-deep in the water. The baseball cap was gone, and her long dark hair was flirting with the wind. The sun, huge and low on the horizon, was sending a myriad of colors across the sky and sea. The sight was breathtaking. It was a photograph waiting to be taken.
Hurrying inside he grabbed his phone, moved quickly back to the railing and framed the shot. He snapped the picture, and as he stared at the captured image he felt a strange stirring in his soul. He glanced down at her, and to his surprise she turned around and gazed up at him. Had she felt his eyes on her? The moment felt almost ethereal, and impulsively he raised his hand in a simple wave. As she briefly lifted hers in response, he wanted to run down the stairs and pull her out of the water. Without those damn sunglasses he’d know her, he was sure of it, but she had already turned back to face the sea and was moving slowly forward.
“I’m going to have this printed out,” he mumbled looking back at the photograph, then seeing what looked like a speck of dirt on the glass he brushed it aside.
It didn’t move.
He enlarged the image.
A shard of panic sliced through his being.
It was a shark’s fin, and it was perilously close to shore.
It was perilously close to her.

Look at this lovely cover for Libby Campbell's A Time For Will. She is on my blog today :)

When time travel drags Will into the 21st century, how will he cope with the beautiful, fiery blond who waits for him there?

I love the premise for this book... A Time for Will

Blurb:

Identical twins, Verity and Felicity (Lissie) Pettigrew inherit an abandoned farm in the remote hills of the Methow Valley. Little do the twins know, but their windfall harbors a secret. While exploring the old barn, Verity stumbles into a hidden portal and is instantly transported more than one hundred years into the past.

In 1885, on the same farm, Will Dawson is saddling his horse when a disturbance in a corner of the barn catches his attention. In his haste to rescue the gorgeous woman in the center of the disturbance, Will is flung far into the future.

Meanwhile, Lissie arrives on the farm looking for Verity, but finds the handsome, slightly suspicious cowboy instead. From their first words to one another, sparks fly.

Lissie’s modern manners and profane language offend Will. His solution? Some old-fashioned discipline delivered on the spot.

Affronted by Will’s distinctly un-twenty-first century approach to male/female relationships, Lissie challenges his authority at every turn in spite of nearly always ending up over his knee.

Meanwhile, Verity must deal with life in 1885. Although accepted into Will’s family, she longs to get back to the 21st century and the man she loves.

Can Will live in a future in which progress comes at the price of everything he holds dear? Can Lissie win him over, and teach him that women can be independent and willful but still soft and sexy? Will Verity find her way back to the man she loves?

Publishers note: This stand alone love story includes scenes of domestic discipline and spicy romance.

Excerpt:

Verity went back to her woodshed hideaway, trying to estimate how long it would take everyone to fall asleep. The heat of the day still clung to the house and all the windows were open. When she thought she heard snoring, she inched across the backyard, shaking all over. Not knowing where she was or who these people were meant she had no idea of the consequences if she was caught. She clenched and unclenched her hands. It was now or never. Her complaining stomach insisted now. She had to eat or she wouldn’t be able to help herself. She tried the door but her hands, slick with nervous sweat, slid off the door knob. She wiped them on her jeans. Exhaling, she tried again. The door creaked open.
Moonlight flooded the room in front of her, spotlighting a large kitchen table with ten carved chairs arranged comfortably around it.
Verity listened, ready to bolt at the first sound of anyone approaching. Silence.
The room was foreign and familiar, all at once. The window over the sink was exactly like the one in her house. But her house no longer had a rough metal trough for a sink, nor was it fed by a hand pump. The lingering scent of freshly-baked bread made Verity’s mouth water. A cloth was draped over a couple of shapes on the counter. She tiptoed over, lifting the cloth, hoping for something good. Her prayers were answered when she found two big pies in deep tin dishes. She inhaled deeply. One smelled of chicken. The other teased her with the fragrance of apple and cinnamon.
Get in and get out, she told herself. Using her Swiss Army knife, she cut a huge slice from each one. She folded the slices into the cloth, forcing herself to resist the temptation to shove them into her mouth right there. Turning to leave as quietly as she could, it dawned on her that she was a thief in her own house. In spite of her frayed nerves, a small smile crossed her lips.
With the appetizing smell of the pies wafting up, it took every ounce of Verity’s willpower to walk stealthily to the back door. As she passed the end of the table, a folded newspaper in front of the big carver chair caught her eye. On the cover of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper, a picture of the Statue of Liberty encased in scaffolding took up half the page. Beside it was a picture of a man Verity did not recognize. Below that was another image of the statue. Squinting hard at the old-fashioned print, Verity was just able to make out the date on the banner: the week ending June 13, 1885.
Is that where she was? June 1885?
No, it was autumnal here, just like it had been in the Methow Valley where she’d been until early this afternoon. The grass was end-of-summer brown and the leaves on the birches and cottonwood were starting to turn.
The sound of nails clicking on the floor above her forced Verity to move. She tucked the newspaper under her arm, sliding toward the door. A light thud of something falling softly followed the nail scraping upstairs. A series of small yips. She waited. When there was no more noise, she decided the dog was just turning in his sleep. Easing the door open she let herself onto the back porch again, listening for any sound that might indicate someone had woken and was coming after her. Her luck was strong. There was no further stirring.

Bradley Sorenson has come to terms that he will never have a lasting relationship with a submissive.  After all, no woman could see to his darker needs in the playroom and continue his brand of power exchange outside of it.  But when Erin shows up at his BDSM club, looking for answers to questions he’s sure she doesn’t even understand, his resolve begins to weaken.
Bradley opens the door to this new world and escorts Erin inside, promising to show her everything she wants to see and more. But just as she begins to find contentment in her true self, she receives a letter that starts a chain of blackmail that could ultimately end her new relationship. Between the blackmail and her new self-awareness, Erin must fight the urge to creep back into the cage she’s so used to hiding in, and work to liberate her heart.

Here's where you can buy it...

Here's an excerpt...

She let the information sink into her mind. Slaves.  The terminology of everything she’d read over the past few days stuck with her, and she didn't think she could ever consider herself a slave.  She didn’t mind the term, and she thought no less of anyone who would categorize themselves as such, but she wasn’t sure she fit in that mold. One idea that she engrained in herself over the last two weeks was that she was not the freak she’d originally believed. She was no weakling, either. No one could submit themselves onto another person's will and be weak. It took strength. And a hell of a lot of trust.
“That might be interesting to see.” She nodded. Very interesting, especially if the play were to all be in the public viewing area, she’d be able to see what she wanted to see without having to get too involved with anyone.  She just needed to get the membership approved as quickly as possible.   “Do you think I’ll be able to get my membership in order by then?”
“I wasn't telling you about the auction because I want you to view it.” He folded his hands in front of himself, where she could see the obvious bulge in his jeans. Had their short interaction been as intoxicating to him as it was to her?  “I told you about the auction because if after I’ve finished with you here, you decide you’d like that distraction- that rebound- the auction is as good a place as any to get on with it.  But understand, that if you come to the auction. If your pretty ass is standing on the auction block. I will buy you. I will own you.”
